Halloween Coloring Pages to Use in the Classroom
Teachers, if you're still looking for some great Halloween coloring pages, I hope you've checked out ColoringBookFun.com. It's the best resource for finding coloring pages of all different types, especially those related to holidays. They have many different categories for just Halloween! So, what does Halloween remind you of? What elements do you associate with the holiday? If you're like most people, Halloween makes you think of leaves, pumpkins carved into Jack-o-lanterns, children trick-or-treating, cats, witches, ghosts, goblins, ghouls and so on. This coloring website has sheets for all of those things and more. Here are some of the top coloring pages for Halloween from ColoringBookFun.com.

Jack-o-lanterns
Jack-o-lanterns can either look friendly or scary, and your needs will vary depending on the age of the children. Of course, you don't want to frighten young children with images of scary jack-o-lanterns, so the friendly jack-o-lantern like the one pictured above is perfect for younger children.   For older kids that like a bit of fright in their Halloween night, try this scary jack-o-lantern coloring page.

Ghosts
Ghosts are the quintessential Halloween image. We associate some with being friendly and some are not so friendly. The image we most often picture, though, is one like this ghost rising out of a grave. The coloring page isn't very frightening as far as its features, but be sensitive about handing out this coloring sheet if any children have had relatives that have passed away recently.

Haunted House
There are few things more frightening than the idea of a house being haunted. Many older students will be visiting haunted houses around Halloween this year as part of the season's activities. If you have older children (and yes, older children still like to color sometimes), this haunted house coloring page will be perfect for putting them in the Halloween mood.

Bats
The thing that I find truly terrifying at Halloween are all the bat decorations. I've had bad experiences with bats in my day! This bat coloring page in particular is incredibly creepy, but a great image to color for Halloween. You could also throw in a lesson about bats to incorporate it into a science lesson. There are so many ways to work coloring into your lesson plans!

Witches
Witches don't have to be old, wart-covered women depicted in old Hollywood movies. Now, children associate them with beautiful, friendly faces for the most part. Or they do with good witches, anyway. Here's a friendly witch coloring page that you can use. Perhaps you could discuss the Salem witch trials as the students color this one.

Mummies
Are you studying ancient Egyptian culture in your classroom? Try this mummy coloring sheet on for size. Discuss how the ancient Egyptians mummified important persons and buried them with their treasures. You may also want to discuss how the mummy image became associated with Halloween.
