Koi Fish Coloring Pages

Coloring is fun; that’s a given. Did you know that it can also be educational? For young children especially, coloring can help cement concepts in their minds after a long day of learning. Not only that, but coloring creates a visual image of the concepts just learned. Take a zebra, for instance. You can talk about a zebra all day long with a child, but the concept of what it looks like really only comes together when the child sees a picture of a zebra. Coloring a zebra picture on his own helps them master that concept even more. At FreePrintableOnline.com, you’ll find lots of different free printable coloring pages to use in your classroom. Many are educational and some are just plain fun. Either way, your students will enjoy a break from their usual routine to let the creativity flow while they color.

Free Animal Coloring Pages to Use in the Classroom and Home

What are your students learning about this week? Giraffes? Monkeys? Cats? Sharks? There are several different animal coloring pages to choose from that include all of those animals. Each picture features a simple design, bold lines and engaging imagery to encourage students to get creative while they are coloring. These are great for use in the classroom, but parents can use them at home, too. Learning shouldn’t stop once the children get off the school bus! Animals are fun anytime. Print a few out to carry on trips, to appointments and anywhere else you may find yourself waiting with a child. Your children will be grateful for something to do rather than stare at the walls or floor! It also provides you with opportunities to ask what they already know about these animals and what they’d like to know. Compile what they’d like to know and do a bit of research when you’re back at the computer. It can become a fun family learning project!

Free Koi Fish Coloring Pages

Koi fish are interesting creatures. Did you know that they can live for 25 to 35 years with the proper care? Even more interesting is that their lifespan can extend to about 200 years in very exceptional cases. That’s quite a long life for a fish! Because they have no stomach but rather a straight gut, they have to be fed frequently, about every four hours.  These fish are very popular in ponds, and they enjoy being in groups of fish called “schools”. Koi can grow up to three feet long, though, so they need plenty of room to swim around. They come in lots of different colors, but more commonly are orange, yellow, red, white and black. In Japan, koi fish are often kept as pets and passed down from one generation to the next because of their long lives. If you’re interested in these fish, print one of these koi fish coloring pages to color as you research more fun facts.
