Free Printable
Rulers for the Classroom
As a teacher, it's not easy to manage the sheer number of
classroom supplies needed by students today. Glue, crayons, scissors,
construction paper and rulers are just the start of a very long list of items
needed in the classroom. Unfortunately, not all parents can afford to buy the
items on those long lists, but their children still deserve the same
educational opportunities as the others. In the free printable crafts
section of PrintablesFree.com, you'll find a couple of resources that can be
very helpful to those students: the rulers, bookmarks and stencils. These are
designed to be high quality resources that provide accuracy and are free of
cost. All you need for these tools are a printer and a computer. As with all of
the printables there, they are completely customizable. Add your name or the
classroom name to each sheet before it's printed out. It couldn't be easier!
Students Use Free
Printable Rulers for Math Projects
The free printable rulers
on PrintablesFree.com come in a variety of designs and styles. The wood pattern
is one of the most popular designs, but the colored ones like green, blue, gray
and purple are also favorites. There are rulers featuring owls, frogs, bees and
bears for the little ones, too. All of the rulers feature centimeters along one
side of the ruler and inches along the other. When printed correctly, the
rulers go up to 10 inches and 25 centimeters. Instead of spending your own
hard-earned money on plastic or metal rulers, print these rulers out for free.
To make them last longer, print them on thick cardstock, laminate the entire
sheet and then cut the rulers out individually. Each student can have an
accurate, quality, durable ruler and it won't matter if it is lost or
misplaced.

Rulers for Boys and Girls
It's sometimes hard to find gender-neutral resources that
can be used for both boys and girls, but there are a number of options that are
suitable in among the rulers there. The free
printable green ruler is one that is suitable for both boys and girls. It
features a stylish wave design with light and dark green colors. Other good gender-neutral
options include the wood pattern ruler, the black ruler and the grey ruler. Of
course, both boys and girls like different colors, so there's no harm in
printing out a good variety of colors to let each student have his or her own
choice. After all, math is a lot more fun when you can inject some color and
personality into it. As you can see in the example above (click the picture to
make it bigger), I have customized the rulers with the teacher's name, the
classroom number, the student's name or the school's name. You can use any of
these options for your rulers or print them out as is. Either way, your
students will enjoy them and find them useful when measuring things in the
classroom.
