Free Printable Bookmarks to Give Out on Halloween

Free Printable Crafts to Give as Gifts

Are you looking for something out of the ordinary to give to someone as a gift? If you’re like most people, you tire of the cookie cutter gifts that are bought from the stores. There are only so many blankets, candles or perfumes a person needs before it becomes too much. The perfect solution to avoid giving a gift that someone already has too much of us to give a homemade gift. Although it has fallen out of fashion, many people today prefer gifts that were made by their friends or loved ones rather than one that was bought. During tough economic times, it’s getting harder and harder to purchase those gifts, anyway. Save yourself some money and your friend the favor of having to return an unneeded item by making a gift from the heart. You’ll find lots of ideas in the free printable crafts section at PrintablesFree.com.

Free Printable Bookmarks for Avid Readers

If your friend or family member is a reader, the perfect gift for giving is a bookmark (or several). Our free printable bookmarks make giving easy. Each page has several different bookmarks, but not many people will want loads of the same design. Rather, what you can do is print out several different designs, selecting one of each for your friend. You’ll then have the others to create bookmark and reading packages for your other friends that love to read. Although they’re wonderful as is, you can improve the bookmarks by printing them on thick cardstock and laminating them. That way, they’ll last a long time, especially for those who read frequently. If you’d like to dress them up a little, read below for some tips!

Free Printable Bookmarks to Go with Your Halloween Treats

Kids get lots of candy on Halloween, but aren’t there gifts that can benefit children more? We think so. That doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t hand out treats at all – your house might get egged! Rather, it would be a good idea to hand out something educational or useful along with your treats so that the present will last longer than a couple of days. These free printable globe bookmarks are perfect for kids and adults alike. School hasn’t been in session long yet, so it evokes that “back to school” feeling while still being appropriate for year-round use. To dress up these bookmarks, punch a hole in one end after the bookmarks are laminated. Tie a colorful ribbon or bit of braided yarn or string through the hole for decoration. You could also choose different bookmarks of a similar size to create two-sided bookmarks. Alternately, you can write a personalized message on the backs of these bookmarks. You’ll get three bookmarks per page, so you won’t have to worry about lots of wasted paper. Just pop these bookmarks in with your candy as your trick-or-treaters come along, and they’ll smile later in the night when they pull them out. If you’d rather not give candy at all, consider the cheap $1 books found at Dollar Stores to go along with these bookmarks.

Get Creative With Our Free Printable Paper Crafts
Summer is over, but that doesn't mean that the fun has to stop at your house. On the contrary, engaging your children in fun activities is more important than ever. Schoolwork can be a drain on your child's energy, especially if he or she has hours of homework to do after being in the classroom for 8 hours a day. This happens all too often in our efforts to make kids learn increasingly difficult concepts at earlier ages. Combine that with the constant stimulation of television, video games, tablets, computers and smartphones, and it can be hard for your child to relax. Instead of adding to your child's stress by piling on more fast-paced activities and technology, help him unwind with a hands-on craft. FreePrintableOnline.com has many free printable crafts for you to choose from, so you're never out of ideas when your child just needs to relax and create!

Free Printable Paper Crafts for After School
What are your child's interests? Does she like to create origami, draw or play with paper dolls? Lucky for you, all of those free printable paper crafts and more can be found at FreePrintableOnline.com. They're perfect for relaxing after school or for keeping your child busy during a rainy day or during the wintertime. Because they're free, you can print out as many as your child would like to complete, even if he or she has friends over. Don't forget to print a few extra activities for those times that you're babysitting for a friend or when you need to give your child an activity while you get dinner going.

Free Printable Paper Dolls for Boys and Girls
If you're looking for printable paper dolls, you're in the right place. Both boys and girls like to play with paper dolls, so there are plenty of options for both. One of the most popular crafts downloads on the site is the Fire Fighter Paper Doll. It features a male doll without a face so your child can personalize it to make it look like him. There's a fire hat, boots, jacket and pants, just like a real fireman would wear. This is a wonderful activity to use to begin teaching your child about fire safety and fire fighters. Once they've completed their craft, show them all the important steps they need to take in case there's a fire in your home. Teach your children the stop, drop and roll technique. Remember to tell them to stay low so they don't inhale smoke. Determine a couple of evacuation routes depending on where a fire may occur in the home. Point out all the smoke alarms, fire extinguishers and windows through which you and your child may escape. Draw out your escape routes and put them in a prominent place in your home where you and your child can review them frequently.

Teacher Resources: Free Printable Rulers

Free Printable Rulers for Students
Free Printable Rulers for the Classroom
As a teacher, it's not easy to manage the sheer number of classroom supplies needed by students today. Glue, crayons, scissors, construction paper and rulers are just the start of a very long list of items needed in the classroom. Unfortunately, not all parents can afford to buy the items on those long lists, but their children still deserve the same educational opportunities as the others. In the free printable crafts section of PrintablesFree.com, you'll find a couple of resources that can be very helpful to those students: the rulers, bookmarks and stencils. These are designed to be high quality resources that provide accuracy and are free of cost. All you need for these tools are a printer and a computer. As with all of the printables there, they are completely customizable. Add your name or the classroom name to each sheet before it's printed out. It couldn't be easier!

Students Use Free Printable Rulers for Math Projects
The free printable rulers on PrintablesFree.com come in a variety of designs and styles. The wood pattern is one of the most popular designs, but the colored ones like green, blue, gray and purple are also favorites. There are rulers featuring owls, frogs, bees and bears for the little ones, too. All of the rulers feature centimeters along one side of the ruler and inches along the other. When printed correctly, the rulers go up to 10 inches and 25 centimeters. Instead of spending your own hard-earned money on plastic or metal rulers, print these rulers out for free. To make them last longer, print them on thick cardstock, laminate the entire sheet and then cut the rulers out individually. Each student can have an accurate, quality, durable ruler and it won't matter if it is lost or misplaced.

Free Printable Rulers for Boys and Girls
It's sometimes hard to find gender-neutral resources that can be used for both boys and girls, but there are a number of options that are suitable in among the rulers there. The free printable green ruler is one that is suitable for both boys and girls. It features a stylish wave design with light and dark green colors. Other good gender-neutral options include the wood pattern ruler, the black ruler and the grey ruler. Of course, both boys and girls like different colors, so there's no harm in printing out a good variety of colors to let each student have his or her own choice. After all, math is a lot more fun when you can inject some color and personality into it. As you can see in the example above (click the picture to make it bigger), I have customized the rulers with the teacher's name, the classroom number, the student's name or the school's name. You can use any of these options for your rulers or print them out as is. Either way, your students will enjoy them and find them useful when measuring things in the classroom.
