Teach Nutrition
with Free Printable Food Coloring Pages
Nutrition doesn't come naturally to many people these
days. In a fast-paced culture full of fast food, healthy eating habits have
fallen to the wayside. Unfortunately, this has occurred with children, too,
contributing to obesity and other medical conditions related to being
overweight. Although healthy eating habits need to be learned at home, there is
something to be said about learning good habits at school, too. You can make a
difference in a child's nutritional choices simply by incorporating more nutritionally
geared content into your classroom. ColoringBookFun.com has a variety of free printable food coloring
pages for your students to color as they learn about the nutritional
advantages and disadvantages of different types of food. All sheets are clear,
black and white images appropriate for use in the classroom or at home. Simply
hit the print button, select the number of sheets you need, and you're all set.

Vegetables are an essential part of any healthy diet, and
we have the perfect vegetable coloring sheets for you to use in the classroom
or at home if you homeschool. Vegetables are chock full of healthy nutrients
like vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and more. Consider printing out one or
all of these images to promote eating vegetables at school. The most popular downloads
in the category are the carrots, corn and pumpkin. You'll also find tomatoes in
the free printable food
coloring pages because people often mistake them for vegetables even though
they're technically fruits. If you select the tomato coloring page, you should
make this point clear to your students about tomatoes being fruits.

Food Coloring Pages Featuring Carrots
If you ask any child what his or her favorite veggie is,
you'll usually hear, "Carrots!" What's not to like about carrots,
though? They're brightly colored, tasty and crunchy. They're also fat-free, low
in calories and packed with nutritional vitamins and minerals. Did you know
that carrots aren't just orange? There are also purple carrots and shades
between purple and pale yellow. They're all tasty, of course. Instead of having
the students color all the carrots orange, talk about the different colored
carrots to encourage variety and natural color in the diet. You can also talk
about the different ways students and their families can enjoy carrots at home.
Some suggestions are: raw carrots served with dip, cooked carrots, steamed
carrots, carrots in soup, shredded carrots and everyone's favorite, carrot
cake. Just a word of warning, though, carrot cake isn't that healthy! It is
delicious, though. Ask your students what their favorite foods with carrots are
as they color the pages. On the back of the sheet, have them write their
favorite fruits and vegetables as well as how they like to eat them. There are
many different ways to discuss healthy foods in the classroom. You'll find
these free
printable carrot coloring pages and more at ColoringBookFun.com.
