Pumpkin Coloring Pages to Celebrate Halloween

Pumpkins are certainly my favorite part of Halloween, and for the entire Autumn season, actually. I love pumpkin flavored coffees, cakes, cookies, butters, pies, rolls and just about anything else that you can think of to put pumpkin in. Pumpkins are delicious – even the seeds can be roasted to make a tasty snack. You don’t have to be a pumpkin connoisseur, however, to enjoy this pumpkin and haystacks coloring sheet. You can have your child color this sheet and leave it up in your home all through the fall season, because it’s perfect for Thanksgiving, too! For soft colors, have your child use crayons or colored pencils. For strong, bold colors, use markers or watercolor paints! Those aren’t your only options, though. You can also use glue and glitter to make a sparkly Halloween image that’s perfect for framing and using from year to year. To make crafts that are safe for the little ones, use edible materials by making up a homemade paste and using orange and yellow sprinkles to decorate the pumpkins. Use your imagination! Just because something is labeled a coloring page doesn’t mean that you’re limited to crayons. Creativity knows no bounds. Just put your noggin to work to think of unusual methods for your crafts, and you’ll soon have a home full of décor that no one has seen before.

Free Printable Greeting Cards for Halloween

Free Printable Halloween CardsCelebrate Halloween with Free Printable Greeting Cards
A few decades ago, it was uncommon to receive greeting cards for certain holidays. People typically only sent them for the biggies: Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays and baptisms. Now, we celebrate more holidays and lend them more significance. Although you don’t have to send greeting cards for every holiday on the calendar (there are several “holidays” for every day of the year, actually), it is a nice gesture to send them on the unusual holidays like Halloween, St. Patrick’s Day, the 4th of July and the like. It’s fun to get cards in the mail, after all – much better than opening the mailbox to find yet another bill. So print out some of the free printable cards, pull out an ink pen and get to work spreading some cheer!

Free Printable Pictures to Decorate Your Home

Free printable animal picturesDecorating Freebies for the Budget Conscious Homeowner

Are you looking for affordable ways to decorate your home? If you’ve looked in the home décor section in many stores, you’re probably shocked at the prices for a simple picture. I know I am shocked every time I look! If you can’t afford those prices or simply don’t want to pay them, that doesn’t mean that you have to have boring, bland walls in your home. It just means that you’ll need to get smart and creative about how you decorate! One of the best kept decorating secrets is these free printable pictures at PrintablesFree.com. They’re free to print and use however you’d like. There are nature photos, animal photos and pictures of people all free for the taking. Just print the ones you like on good photo paper and you’re ready to go! Below are some tips for making that simple picture look extraordinary on your walls.

Free Animal Pictures for Home Decorating

Do you have a child that just loves animals? Typically, children focus on a particular animal or group of animals. I know that my son loves jungle animals, so thinks like tigers and zebras are a big hit. You’ll find great pictures in the free printable animal pictures at PrintablesFree.com. In addition to tigers and zebras, you’ll also find cute puppies for those who love their four-legged pals. No matter what you choose, you can personalize and print the photo first to be put in a beautiful frame later. Use the customization tool on the site to add text or pictures. If you’d like to use a more advanced photo editor, just save the image to your computer first. Then, you can upload it to your favorite editor to make it something really special!

Jungle Animals – Free Printable Animal Pictures of Tigers

As you can see above, I used this free printable tiger picture to create a unique design. I uploaded the picture to one of my favorite editors (picmonkey) and then added text (the word “tiger”). I then uploaded another image of a tiger’s pattern as an overlay. Use the overlay tool to choose your blending option. I used the multiply tool. You can fade out the effect a bit if you want. Of course, that has the print outside the text area, so I then used the eraser tool until the tiger print only filled the letters rather than taking up the entire space in that corner of the photograph. This would be lovely with one of the zebra pictures, too. The picture will not only look good in your child’s room, but will also help them remember how to spell the word “tiger” as well as remember what the tiger’s coat looks like. Feel free to edit, blend, crop, and use the photos on PrintablesFree.com any way you’d like. Have fun with your designs! All that’s left to do is frame it for a unique piece of wall art.

They’ll also love putting the holidays down on their calendars because holidays mean lots of fun, at least when you’re a child. Fall Coloring Pages to Celebrate Autumn

fall coloring pages
Autumn Coloring Pages
We just entered Fall over the weekend, so it won't be long before we start seeing bright red, orange and yellow leaves burning like flames against the sky. It's a beautiful time of year, and one of my personal favorites. The air is cool and crisp, but not too cold to enjoy a day outdoors. The sun still shines many days, and the bleakness of winter has not yet set in. What's not to love about fall? There will be the occasional chilly day when you won't be able to take the kids outside, though, so here are some free printable nature coloring pages to bring the feel of the outdoors indoors.

Fall Coloring Sheets
What's your favorite thing about fall? At ColoringBookFun.com, you'll find free printable fall coloring pages that cover many different events that we associate with fall. There's a basket of apples, a cornucopia typically associated with Thanksgiving, fall leaves of all different types, playing in the leaves, pumpkins, scarecrows and trees. That's a lot of fall packed into a few coloring sheets! Print one or print them all. Children at home or students in the classroom will love getting into the spirit of fall by coloring these fun pages.

Fall Coloring Pictures for Kids
Raking leaves may be an unpleasant task, but there's nothing more fun to a child than jumping into a freshly raked pile of leaves. They're somehow soft and crunchy at the same time. You can dive into them, pop out of them and throw leaves everywhere or just roll around in the brightly colored leaves. Take pictures of your children as they do this – these make for wonderful and beautiful fall photos. After you come inside, give your children one of these fall coloring pages to wind down and prepare for dinner or bath time.

Quotes About Fall to Personalize Your Coloring Pages
You can make your coloring pages even more special by adding a favorite quote about fall in pretty handwriting. Here are some of my favorite quotes about my favorite season!

I would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion.
Henry David Thoreau

Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies.
Nora Ephron

Autumn… the year's last, loveliest smile.
William Cullen Bryant

Love the trees until their leaves fall off, then encourage them to try again next year.
Chad Sugg

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.
Albert Camus

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.
George Eliot

By all these lovely tokens September days are here, with summer's best of weather and Autumn's best of cheer.
Helen Hunt Jackson

Now Autumn's fire burns slowly along the woods and day by day the dead leaves fall and melt.

There are only so many blankets, candles or perfumes a person needs before it becomes too much. The perfect solution to avoid giving a gift that someone already has too much of us to give a homemade gift. Although it has fallen out of fashion, many people today prefer gifts that were made by their friends or loved ones rather than one that was bought. Albert Einstein Quotes to Tap in to Your Inner Genius

Are you looking for quotes from some of the world’s greatest minds? You can’t get much better than Einstein himself. Aside from being a genius in every sense of the word – from mathematics to physics to electricity and more, the man had a way with words. As it turns out, Einstein had lots of advice to offer us, and many of his more memorable sayings can be found in our free printable quotes. As in the picture to your left, much of his advice was given with a sense of both humor and wisdom. The free printable inspirational quote pictured reads, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.” You can find the printable version of the quote here. It’s perfect for framing to keep handy in your home or office.

For more Albert Einstein quotes, read these popular sayings below.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the former.

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don’t do anything about it.

There are only two way to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.

When you are courting a nice girl an hour seems like a second. When you sit on a red-hot cinder a second seems like an hour. That’s relativity.

If you can’t explain it to a six year old, you don’t understand it yourself.

The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits.

Logic will get you from A to B; imagination will take you everywhere.

The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge, but imagination.

If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.

Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value.

Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.

Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.

I speak to everyone in the same way, whether he is the garbage man or the president of the university.

A clever person solves a problem. A wise person avoids it.

Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.

Before God we are all equally wise – and equally foolish.

Never memorize something that you can look up.

I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.

It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity.

You never fail until you stop trying.

Any fool can know. The point is to understand.

Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.

Mario Coloring Pages for Young Kids
Who is your favorite character in the Mario game world? My favorite character was Princess Peach, though I was never much good at gaming myself. PrintablesFree.com has the three main characters from the series of games: Mario, Luigi and the mushroom. These would be perfect for a child's birthday party. You can use them as part of a structured activity during the party or print out all the sheets for each guest in attendance as part of a favor bag. Any fan of Mario or video games in general should like these free printable Mario coloring pages.

Mario Coloring Sheets for Gamers
This free printable Mario coloring sheet is a wonderful addition to your child's coloring pages. The design is simple, clear and bold. It features the Mario character in bold outline, ready to be colored. There are lines at the top of the page for your child's name and the date the coloring page is completed. Don't forget to have your child fill these out, as you'll want to keep the really special coloring pages for your scrapbook or memory chest. The dialogue below sums up the world of Mario quite nicely:

Luigi: I just hope this crazy plan of yours works!
Mario: My crazy plans always work!

Mario Background
If you're a fan of the character, you may want to know a little about his background! Shigeru Miyamoto, a Japanese video game designer, created him. Mario became a bit of a mascot for Nintendo and has appeared in more than 200 games. It is the bestselling video game franchise of all time. That's impressive for such a simple concept! The series was first called Jumpman and the character was first called Mr. Video.

Quotes from Mario Games and Show
For a bit of fun, here are some of our favorite quotes from the main characters in the Mario games and in the Mario cartoons on television. Enjoy!

From the games:
·         "It's a-me, Mario!"
·         "Let's-a go, little guys!"

From the television show:
·         "Hey, King Koopa! You can at least say goodbye!"
·         "Don't worry, Princess, we'll find little Oogtar soon - it's almost past his bedtime!"

Preschool Worksheets for Learning Important Skills

free printable preschool worksheets
Worksheets for Preschoolers
Parents and teachers with preschool aged children know what an important time preschool is. Here, students are venturing away from their parents for the first time in their lives for significant amounts of time every day. They're making new friends and learning how to interact socially with other children and adults. They're also learning how to follow directions. In addition to all of this, which can be overwhelming to a young child, they must also learn the fundamental skills necessary for them to succeed in Kindergarten. Because so many kids go to preschool these days, children may fall behind if they are not taught these skills either in preschool or at home by their parents. The free printable worksheets can help you teach these precious little ones no matter if you're in a classroom or sitting at your dining room table.

Preschool Worksheets to Teach Fundamental Skills
So, what sorts of things do students need to learn in preschool? The alphabet is often one of the first subjects tackled. Students also work on their numbers, shapes and colors. They'll learn how to read and spell simple words. Not all learning that takes place is so obvious, though. They learn appropriate peer interactions, including how to respect others and how to be kind. They learn how to tie their shoes. Basically, they learn a lot of the skills that allow them to be more independent. The free printable preschool worksheets can help teachers and parents lay the foundation for a successful year in preschool and the subsequent year in Kindergarten. The more concepts that are mastered now, the easier Kindergarten will be.

Preschool Worksheets to Teach ABCs and 123s
Speaking of learning the alphabet, we have some great resources for teachers and parents to use to mold these young minds! Let's start with the letter A. This "A" practice worksheet has six rows of the letter A. The letter is displayed in both uppercase and lowercase. The first set of letters on each line is clear and bold. The rest of the letters are dotted so the students can trace over them with their pencils or crayons. All of the letters are very clear and perfectly executed. With plenty of practice, your students will be making the letter A like pros. Of course, there are more letters in the alphabet! Here, you'll find B and C. Just search through the preschool worksheets and you'll find a similar sheet for every letter of the alphabet. By focusing on one letter each day with frequent reviews of all the letters covered, your students will be writing letters and words on their own in no time at all. In addition to these letter worksheets, you can also use pictures or objects to reinforce the sound that the letter makes. The obvious choice for A is the apple, but you can use more creative things, too, like an ant. We hope you enjoy the alphabet worksheets!

Pirate Loot for Talk Like a Pirate Day

Talk LIke a Pirate Day
Arr, Matey! Talk Like a Pirate Day is this week (on the 19th, to be exact), so it's time to shiver your timbers and walk the plank. Or, since we don't know what any of that means, you can just take a look at some of the awesome pirate printables on FreePrintable.com. These free printable invitations, worksheets, stickers, flags and more will be loved by all the little pirates in your house. Let's get started!

Pirate Invitations
·         Yellow pirate party invitation – This invitation is a brightly colored invite perfect for your little pirate's birthday party. There's plenty of room for you to tell his shipmates about the party, with lines for the date, time, location and RSVP details.
·         White pirate party invitation – For a look that's a little more subtle, go with the white invitation. The other details are the same as the yellow invitation mentioned above.
·         Pirate invitations for kids – This colorful invitation has a lot of whitespace for you to customize with your party details. It features a detailed pirate ship on the lower half, so kids will love this authentic looking invitation.

Pirate Gear
·         Pirate hat – You're not a real pirate unless you wear the hat, so FreePrintable.com has made sure that you'll be able to tell the land lovers from the real pirates. Just print the design on thick card stock, cut out and tie with a string around your child's head.
·         Pirate eye patches – Sadly, it seems no pirate has perfect vision, so get that bad eye look with these fun, colorful eye patches. There are six different designs per printout, and boys and girls will love them. Print these on medium weight card stock, poke the small holes in the corners and tie thin yarn or string to the eye patch.

Keep Out – Pirates Door Knob Hangers
·         Enter at your own risk – As it turns out, pirates are as impersonal as they are adventurous. To keep enemies at bay, your marauder may want to put up a door knob hanger to warn everyone to keep out.
·         Skull and swords door knob hanger – You'll want to keep away from someone's room if this hanger is on the door. A skull with two swords guards the entrance with a very clear "Do Not Enter" stance.

Finally, we'll leave you with some of our favorite pirate quotes from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Some will teach you to talk like a pirate while others will give you an inside look at a pirate's life. It's not a pirate's life for me, but it may be for you. Enjoy!

Will Turner: We’re going to steal a ship? That ship?
Jack Sparrow: Commandeer. We’re going to commandeer that ship. Nautical term.

I’m dishonest and a dishonest man you can trust to be dishonest. Honestly, it's the honest ones you have to watch out for. It's hard to predict when they’ll do something incredibly… stupid.
~Captain Jack Sparrow
Wherever we want to go, we go. That's what a ship is, you know. It's not just a keel and hull and a deck and sails. That's what a ship needs. But what a ship is... what the Black Pearl really is... is freedom.
~ Captain Jack Sparrow
